Event Name: L2: DE Air Systems Part 1: Intro to Modeling Aircraft Missions with STK Aviator
Location: Online
Date(s): Feb-23
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. (ET)
Price: Free
Description:
Aircrew mission planners require analytical tools that allow them to determine how atmospheric phenomena and terrain will affect the performance of an airborne mission. Furthermore, they need the ability to use the analytical tool to model real-world aircraft performance that accounts for variations in airframe performance characteristics and mission requirements. This class will set up a mission planning scenario flying a small commuter jet from Colorado Springs Municipal Airport to Telluride Regional airport. You will learn how to add Navigational Aids as waypoints and determine how much fuel is required, and how much payload can be carried on board the aircraft, for the mission.

Upon completion of this class you will understand how to use STK and Aviator to design a cross country flight route and use the Aviator Catalog Manager to:
  • Load airfield runway data into the scenario for takeoff and landing procedures
  • Load Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs) to simulate physical devices on the ground that aircraft can detect and fly to
  • Use selected Data Providers to determine payload requirements and how much fuel is consumed during the flight
Comments:
This lesson requires STK 12.1 to complete because it includes new features introduced in STK 12.1. If you do not have STK 12.1 installed or cannot install it on your local machine, an STK online version, STK Cloud, will be made available through your web browser, the day of the event at licensing.agi.com/training.
