Event Name: L2: **New lesson** Communications Part 2: Intro to RF Environment, SNT & Terrain
Location: Online
Date(s): Feb-2
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. (ET)
Price: Free
Description:

Learn how to use STK to apply radio frequency (RF) atmospheric phenomena such as rain and atmospheric absorption to your link budget analysis. You will set up your receiver to account for and compute system noise temperature and use local analytical terrain files to take into account line of sight obstruction. You will also use a Sensor object to create a simple servo motor to steer the antenna. Upon completion, you will understand:

  • The ITU-R rain model
  • The ITU-R atmospheric absorption loss model
  • The system temperature interface
  • The terrain mask constraint
  • How to design a simple servo motor

Follow along on your computer as an instructor walks you through this STK lesson. AGI engineers will be available during the session to answer your questions live.
